Since it's opening in 1993, Blue Valley Northwest High School has made a solid commitment to support drug and alcohol free programs for students throughout the year, with the major events held on the evenings of Prom and Graduation.
Here's why these parties are important. Nationally, more high school age students are injured or killed between the hours of 10:00 pm and 4:00 am in May and June than during any other time of year. These tragedies all too frequently occur after spring prom and after graduation. As you might expect, alcohol and drugs are generally involved. Since the advent of parent and community-sponsored alcohol and drug-free parties across the nation, there is clear evidence that countless tragedies have been averted. And that's not all.
The students love the parties! That's right! These big events are looked forward to with great anticipation! In fact, attendance is traditionally clost to 90%.
Get Involved! We are still in need of co-chairs for After Prom and a second co-chair for Project Graduation. Grab a friend to chair one of these events -- it is FUN! Contact Paula Moring or a PBC Officer -- Co-Chair position OPEN Anna Randazzo
Parent volunteers transform the BVNW Commons and gymnasium into a Monte Carlo night / game night.
Students attending the event enjoy gaming for prizes...
...and good old-fashioned Twister!
The After Graduation party held at Power Play provides games, food and prizes for all attending seniors. This is most likely the last evening this class will be together.
The Whirlyball court is opened for the evening, a lacrosse-style competition played in bumper cars. Try to scoop and shoot the ball at the "net" - the highest-scoring team wins!
There is go-cart racing...
...arcade games of every kind...
...and laser tag!
Donations to this event are tax deductible and you would be supporting a worthwhile project.
